The things we say and the things we mean…

This is a rant about trust (or the lack of)…and honesty…and the not-very-honest things people do to get what they want. It’s quite sad to note that more times than not, you have to be extremely cautious in your interactions with people because you have  no idea what their intentions are. Sometimes we choose to trust, not out of naivety or gullibility but because of that little hope that there are still genuine people out there. It can be really exhausting having to constantly walk on eggshells. So why not just go on and be/do/say what you want? How bad can it possibly get? If I had a dollar for everytime I asked myself that question, I’d be very rich. I can’t speak for all of you but I’m really tired of wanting to call someone but not being able to because I called the last two times. I’m tired of making the phonecall anyway (for the umpteenth time) and being mistaken for someone who’s too keen. I’m tired of the games everyone seems to be playing and the rules no one told me about. And contrary to popular belief, vagueness is not cool (in my opinion)! Would it really be the worst thing in the world if people just said what they freaking mean?
